The bright and dark sides of leadership: A Socioanalytic Circumplex perspective
Xander van Lill, Lynne A. Cruickshank, Michael J. Boudreaux
Humans have a remarkable capacity for empathy and innovation, yet are also capable of causing profound harm (Hogan & Sherman, 2020; Pinker, 2018). Leadership, as a social phenomenon, plays a central role in directing this dual potential toward collective benefit or detriment. Understanding the personality foundations of leadership is therefore crucial for explaining how leaders promote or undermine positive outcomes for groups and organizations. This paper introduces a personality-based leadership circumplex and associated assessment model that integrates personality and leadership theory within a unified framework.Complimentary Certifications
