Certification is a separate, credentialed pathway you can pursue at any point — membership is not required to enrol in certification preparation, though it offers additional benefits and, in some cases, exam discounts.
No. Many of the benefits — global community, research, development resources — are available through SHRM membership itself, independent of certification.
Yes. Peter Berry Consultancy is an approved SHRM Education Partner for Australia and New Zealand to deliver SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP® certification preparation course.
SHRM-CP® is designed for professionals working in HR or HR-related roles who support day-to-day HR operations, implement policies and work directly with employees and managers. SHRM-SCP® is designed for experienced HR leaders and senior practitioners responsible for strategic decision-making and organisational outcomes. The preparation course is the same; they are different examination options.
Membership requirements and exam eligibility vary. We can help you understand the most appropriate pathway when registrations open.
PBC will offer both virtual and in-person delivery formats. The schedule will be released soon.
SHRM certification assesses both HR knowledge and behavioural competencies, focusing on how professionals apply judgement and expertise in real workplace situations.
